Psychology

The first paper on ‘Idleness and the Need for Justifiable Busyness’ is an article that is well planned and executed in the simplest and understandable manner possible. The writer’s connects different research on the topic and how they all play a part in shaping the conclusion is magnificent. For example, the author indicates that, given all research conducted on the topic, what is derived from them is that busyness trumps idleness in most of the studies conducted by them. Further, what the author does well is prepare the readers of what to expect in the paper at the same time makes them aware of what the researchers want individuals to think while reading the article (Hsee, Yang and Wang, 927). The paper focuses on answering why and what in the research question something that the writer creates a perfect picture in the mind of a reader with the choice of words. For example, the writer shows the base of the paper on grounds that humanity needs to work to survive and on the other hand as a means to better their lives. As a result, all prompts in the research were answered. However, the author fails to mention the number of the cohort used in the study. In addition, there is no mention if any experimental test conducted.

Critical thinking

The conclusion used by the author of the paper throws the ball to the reader and converses with them at a more personal level. In strengthen this, the write uses terms such as we as a platform to introduce his or her opinion on the subject matter. The writer shows with ease that introduction of rewards and reasons in working conditions automatically propagate individuals to become busy. Unfortunately, in the study, the writer does not remember to mention the number of the study cohort in the main body but does so at the conclusion. Further, the words to represent the study cohort used are an indication that the number is not clear. However, the write shows that the study opened room for further research in the field. Further, there is a clear indication that all questions and expectations were met and at the same time, additional information was brought to light. Therefore, it would be correct to state that the conclusion drawn from the research was substantial. The strongest part of the paper was in the way the writer was able to speak to the readers mind filling it with easily relatable examples.
The paper was well written although there were a number of grammatical issues. The writer built his or her argument on a good foundation and focused on supporting arguments in a plan and execution manner that showed proper and clear organization of work. The rest of the things are in order although the writer slightly needed to indicate “DOI” of the article reviewed in the reference page.
The second review was ‘More Than Skin Deep: Visceral States are not projected onto Dissimilar Others.’ The paper which is a review of Ed O’Brien and Phoebe C. Ellsworth, shows the perception of people on others basing the own experience and their desires at a particular time (O'Brien and Ellsworth, 392). The writer uses simple and easy to understand English even in technical terms to explain his or her points. For instance, the topic of the article is more of a scientific term and, therefore, it would be difficult for other individuals to understand it directly. However, the writer understood that and did a good job in explaining and simplifying the scientific terminologies. Further, the variables of the research were well indicated and because the researchers used two different separate investigations; a reader may assume that on was an experimental while the other was the actual study. However, the one thing that the writer did not do is mention, which type of study the research was conducted using.

Critical thinking

Given the study cohort and the findings of the two studies, it would be correct to state that the number of cohort and studies findings substantiate the research and its conclusion. Every reader would appreciate that fact that the writer mentioned the number of students used in the study, gender representation, as well as race. Consequently, the information showed the emotional attachment that different races and gender had on political matters and the perception individuals portray on others using their experiences. The limitation of the study was laid out well thus representing the challenges faced by the scientist despite their efforts to minimize them. Use of figures in research makes it easier for readers understand of a study easily. The writer knew this and, therefore, dedicatedly used them to explain his or her study, which is plus when it comes to the strength of the study.
The paper was well written; with point’s development being done in a systematic and well-planned manner. For that reason, the paper is seen to have a strong foundation (beginning), well planned and executed. However, the conclusion of the paper dwelled more on the political side than on the main issue pertaining to the study. The study was about (‘More Than Skin Deep: Visceral States are not projected onto Dissimilar Others.’) and not on Republicans and Democrats though mentioned.

Conclusion

Both writers planned and executed the researchers core functions with ease. However, a number of grammatical errors are picked here and there which requires a reread of the article because a reader at times finds himself or herself lost. At the discussion point (main body), the writers did their best in capturing the essential information given thus, reducing the diversion tendencies. Overall, both were jobs well done and challenged me on what, and what not to write in such papers.
