Artistic expressions of history can be used as ways of having anesthetic approach to culture, politics, community and the wellbeing of those who can relate to the art. It is a way of providing people to associate with what they value most in a personalized and memorable way. Humanities have always had the tradition whereby they situate esthetics, which, in this case, can be the artistic expressions in relation to the judgments of taste, the pleasure of imitation and the subjective manner of interpretation. The museums are such places that help in the storage of history depending on the society’s cultural and artistic expressions. Here, there are various displays of artistic work depending on what the artist intended to convey the message that he/she intended to pass across. Situating a society’s cultural and artistic expressions within a historical context helps in the preservation of memory. It means that the artist has to have a real knowledge of how they can impress the audience, and those who would like to receive the message will also have to learn how to see the work. Seeing in this context is very subjective. The moment present in the piece of art can have different implications for different people. It will depend on how it makes them feel about what they are seeing. When art is employed to illustrate the history, the cultural expressions of varying degrees serves as the methodology. There has to be a connection between the art and the historical account so that the target audience can relate to the message being communicated. Preservation of memories in cultural and artistic expressions within historical contexts only happen when the artist can define a cultural characteristic, then find illustration of that nature from art interpreted as a cultural expression (Waterman et al. 2010). When the audience can relate to the piece of work, they will be able to value their culture and practice it more since they are proud to be associated with it. Another importance of such a strategy is that it provides some basis of evaluation for those whose cultures have been expressed within the cultural context. Different cultures have different ways of expressing what they value in their cultures. Some do it through their attire, others through dances while others will opt for different kinds of drawing or construction. It provides a platform from which people can make comparisons of their cultures. Being able to come up with differences in cultures denotes the differences that people have in their cultures, and this can be used as a way of identification. The different situations and concepts that have been established based on the historical contexts will be used for studying the distinguishing factor for different cultures.Intellectual Influence Different people will have different perceptions as to how people are supposed to express their social interactions based on various theories. If this is the case, the learning outcomes will always have different influences on people’s thinking and how they interpret their social circumstances. For example, the level of education that an individual has is likely to determine how he learns from his environment. Particularly, a college undergraduate and a lecturer will have different perceptions of what is important in life. The undergraduate will be more likely to be concerned about having a good job and leading a luxurious life while the lecturer will be more concerned about having intellectual growth. In terms of culture, intellectual influence will affect how people reason about different issues. According to Benchimol (2007), in London, the significant role played by new coffee houses in the development a liberal culture of intellectual exchange. There existed cultural spaces reflecting an unusual social mix of nobility whereby literature had to legitimate itself amongst the communities there. In Germany, just like in the coffee housed and salons participants in the intellectual institutions were drawn from both the upper and the middle classes, with a clear presence of academics making the middle classes.Religious Influence Religion defines what people perceive as being important and how it should dictate what goes on in their lives on a daily basis. Through religion, community members establish different patterns of interaction that they can use to determine how they will have their spiritual nourishment. With culture, religion may have little influence since people will always have a standardized way of getting their spiritual nourishment. Particularly, the Catholic religion has a standardized way of conducting its services regardless of where people come from. It can be evidenced by the standardized way of reciting different parts of the services that cut across different countries. The same can be seen in the artistic expressions of the religious nature. The pictures of the Virgin Mary are always similar in most of these churches.Political and Socio-Economic The political aspects of a region influence on the social expressions of people within a social context depending on the issues that the social group has. Suppose people want to demonstrate against poor leadership in the region, they will use different artistic approaches or ways of demonstrating. Some will use artistic expressions such as graffiti or music to voice their concerns while others can prefer social demonstrations.
