Sample/setting
The research will target a sample size of fifty respondents since a report from US National Library of Medicine, states that in every five patients admitted to the hospital one is likely to be infected. The sample size will be able to give tangible information useful in drawing conclusions. The study will take place in a selected number of public hospitals because of ease access to the hospitals. The researcher's main job will be to determine the real cause of the infection and the number of people who contact the infection. The research will include the patients who are not admitted to the hospital and those patients already admitted to the hospital people who already have the infection. The study will exclude people who are not yet infected.
Sampling strategy
The researcher will use cluster sampling style to get the required number of respondents. Cluster sampling encourages division of the population into small groups and then a random sampling conducted on the clusters. Patients will be divided into groups of five, and then the diagnostics will be done to prove whether the one out of five statistics is valid or not (Perla 2013).
Research design
Field experiment is one research design suitable for this problem because unlike lab tests this approach allows experiments to be carried out in the real world. The method engages the naturally occurring environment and allows the diversities in the natural environment to play a role in the research. Field experiment method is suitable for social sciences, economic and health-related research and has yielded good results; in addition, it is the best choice for the design strategy of the research (Perla 2013).
