Introduction

CN tower has been an engineering marvel, the most celebrated architecture and most visited site in Canada. It stretches more than 500 meters into the sky. It has been the tallest tower in the world over three decades upon its completion around 1975. It derives its name from the company that constructed it, the Canadian National. However, it changed its name later on to Canada Lands Company initialed as CLC. The aim of its construction was to create a hub for telecommunication across the city. Currently, it harbors Television and Radio platforms in Canada. However, due to its complexity and highly advanced design, it has been a major tourist attraction site. Thanks to engineers.
This is a brief history about CN tower. Before it was pronounced public company, CN tower was owned by the Railway Company until later in 1995. The tower was finally opened officially upon its completion in 1976 and it was graced by almost 1.6 million international visitors.
CN towers is a complex structure that upon its completion it had become an engineering wonder. According to the Guinness World Book of records, CN declared the world’s tallest free standing structure. The CN tower also holds a walking glass estimated to be more than 110 stories above the ground. The glass is 25 inches thick but has the ability to carry as many people as more than 100. According to recent research, it is estimated to hold approximately 10 hippos. It gives people a feeling of walking in thin air and tests their courage. Moreover, CN tower has 360 revolving restaurants. The restaurant is an award winning restaurant which offers best wines and food. Apart from being a tourist attraction site, it has been used as a national prestige. Canada has used CN tower to commemorate events. It has used colors to represent symbols and send message to people. A recent occasion being the death of South African icon Nelson Mandela. The CN tower was shining in South African colors to reflect his country and death. Earlier on, the tower was lit up in colors to represent championships, political parties and public holidays. Nevertheless, the tower has been a unique symbol in Canadian currency. It has been used as an epitome of national heritage and tourist wealth.
As a major tourist attraction, CN has been created such that it minimizes accidents to its users. Advanced safety features were integrated in its architect. It has fireproof building materials such as the glass. The maintenance of the tower is highly equipped. Routine inspections and 24 hour monitoring operation have been set to combat any life threat. Moreover, fire hoses and extensive sprinkler systems have been set at the base. These safety precautions have ensured that tourists are safe as they get entertained.
