Girad 10-13

Chapter 10
Chapter 10 talks about the nourishing arts. The introductory segment of this chapter talks about the role of the women in preparing meals that people eat in their homes. However, the writer maintains that the statement does not depict the belief in a stable and immanent feminine nature, which dooms the women in the society to housework and gives them monopoly over the kitchen and interior organization tasks. There are women in the societies doomed ceaselessly to the creation of life and housework, others excluded from the public life and knowledge communication. In addition, there are those women who were educated at times when women were subjugated and treated as inferior humans in society.

Chapter 11

The chapter talks about the alimentary customs that make up the minuscule history crossroads. Under the repetitive and silent systems of daily servitudes that individuals carry out as a habit, the mind of these individuals follows traditional designs dissimulated under gesture montages, rites, and choices. The elements through which a culture can order a sensible world is organization and dissimulation of reflections of the elemental purification of the rites and customs of that given society. The natural history of a society, which mostly includes the climatic conditions, the animals, and the vegetation often adds to the understanding of the societal culture related to food and women in the kitchens.

Chapter 12

Chapter 12 talks about gesture sequences. It talks about the various ways through which individuals can find the right words, which are simple, precise and ordinary to recount the sequences of gestures. The succession of gestures is also important, especially with the weave of indeterminate cloud of culinary practices within the kitchens’ intimacy. This chapter also talks about the field of oblivion, which talks about the consideration of daily work of cooking doomed to repetition of archaic structures.

Chapter 13

Chapter 13 talks about the rules of the art. In this chapter, knowing, learning and telling how to perform actions, the fading in and out of gestures, and the skillfulness of some aspects in society are essential to understanding the women and the kitchen environments. Women have their reference corpus and language, which implicates the knowledge that most of the recipe details does not always communicate to one. This chapter also provides the domain of actions or objects involved in the language used in talking about cooking. These distinct domains include the ingredients, the utensils, the performance and the descriptions. The chapter also talks about the language of recipes and provides that for women, the language of recipes is simple.
