The descriptive that will be used in the paper included:
Central tendency:
Mean – the average value from the dataset (Coolidge, 2013)
Median – The middle value of the dataset
Mode – The most occurring value in the dataset
Dispersion:
Standard deviation – the variation of the data
Range – difference between the largest and smallest values
Confidence interval
The 95% CI will be determined if the data is normally distributed
Distribution
Histogram will provide information on the distribution of the data. For normally distributed data the histogram has a symmetrical shape (Coolidge, 2013)
For skewed data the histogram is either skewed to the right or left (Coolidge, 2013)
Significance
For checking the distribution, a p value greater than 0.05 indicates that the data is normally distributed.
A p value less than 0.05 indicates that the data is skewed
Distribution: Normal
Distribution: Normal
The distribution of the data has been determined using the histograms contained in appendix B. The descriptive statistics for the dataset is contained in appendix C.
Descriptive Statistics Interpretation
The average number of units produced per sec from the second variable is 20.96. The production capability of the process shows that the lowest number of units produced are 12 while the highest is 26. The 95% confidence interval for the data is between 21.44 and 19.94.
Productivity per year
This variable examines the total productivity per year. A bar chart has been derived from the data. The chart is in appendix B.
Appendix A
Raw data used in the analysis
Appendix B
Charts and Tables
Bar chart
Scatter plot showing the relationship between process 1 and 2
Appendix C
