Educational And Career Goals Essay Example
This is my letter of intent, in that I am seeking to further my education and move onwards towards a new and more advanced level of study. I am applying for a local scholarship and the information that is contained in this paper will hopefully fulfill the essay requirement that I have been requested to provide. My immediate goals are educational and will serve to benefit my career goals so that I might advance said goals even further and accomplish what none in my family have attained to date, to graduate from an accredited college.
The educational goals I speak of include the primary, which is to obtain an Associate’s Degree focusing on Paralegal Studies from an accredited community college. This in turn will allow me to find gainful employment through which I will then be able to insure that I can fund any and all further schooling as I plan on attending law school to further my education and career experience.
This is very important to me as I am seeking to better myself and accomplish something that is quite unique in my family. I am 32 years of age, have a single child, and will be the first in my family to graduate college. I am eager to prove that I have the determination and willpower to forge ahead and make my son and my family proud of my accomplishments.
On top of caring for my son, going to school and working as well to support my family I have performed volunteer work in order to help out my community and gain a better perspective of those I am attempting to serve. This allows me the experience that will one day help me understand and better connect with those in the community I am attempting to help.
My volunteer work includes helping out in various matters such as CASA, the Sonoma county Legal Aid Golf Tournament, and even tutoring underprivileged children at the Guerneville Elementary School. I do this free of charge as I value the experience and am more than willing to give my time to represent and help out those children who are in need.
