I started my career in the current organization as an operations coordinator nine years ago and am currently serving as the Lead Defense Travel Administrator. As an Operations Coordinator, I was incubated into the organization with an initial training that was mostly related to the job. I was given training in the areas of IDE training that majorly dealt with document staffing system and task management system, among others.
I was given the Army Regulation Copy 25-50 (AR 25-50) that was predominantly a guide to format army documents in the correct format. However, no training was provided when the organization upgraded to different products that were offered by Microsoft.
All related information to the upgraded Microsoft products was my own individual effort. When the organization switched to SharePoint from IDE, a one day training was provided. In addition to the above, training in aspects like appropriate forms of using the Defense Travel System, etc., was provided.
I even attended the school of Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), Indianapolis to learn various things related to the usage of various systems like (Lead Defense Travel Administrator (LDTA), Authorizing Official (AO) Debt Management Monitor (DMM) and Financial DTA), among others.
I would like to be trained in all the programs of Microsoft that are part of my current job as I feel the same would increase my efficiency in using those particular products or programs in my day-to-day professional routine. Also, as my job included meeting and interacting with various kinds of personalities on a daily basis, I would also wish to be trained in the ways to deal with the various personalities.
