What are some endocrine disruptors that you are exposed to?

Endocrine disruptors are present in the environment and on most consumer commodities. Chemicals that are probable to be endocrine disruptors affecting me may be found in pesticides used on the farm. Additionally, in cases of routine fumigation around the house, there is a chance of exposure to the endocrine disruptors. As long as one is involved in farming, the different chemicals used in agriculture provide sources of endocrine disruptors. At work, since I am involved in an industry workplace, the use of substances such as detergents and plasticizers are sources of endocrine disruptors. Further, eating of fatty foods and fish that have been obtained from chemically contaminated water provide another source of exposures to endocrines.

Do you think they have had any effect on you or your family?

I think that they have had an effect on my family and me, but not to great extents. Maybe this has been attributed to the low levels of concentration of the endocrine disruptors entering our systems.
With more and more chemicals that individuals are exposed to, do you think this will become a serious issue? Why or why not?
Endocrine will become a serious issue because they can cause significant biological changes in the human bodies. According to the NRDC (National Resources Defense Council) (1), study has indicated that endocrine disruptors have been seen to affect the unborn child, even to the extent where effects are experienced later in a child’s life. A child may have problems in developing reproductive organs. In addition, adverse health effects such as cancer and other reproductive health problems can be linked to endocrine disruptors.
