Essay On Parents Should Not Sacrifice Their Children For Their Own Dream.
The summary of the class reading of Hunger; A Novella and Stories. The author is Lan Samantha Chang. This book brings out about rational thinking that occurs against religious rituals and superstition. It tries to site a given situation where faith has the capability of running over the rational, and some other given form of situation where superstition is beaten by the logical thinking. Scarifying a child for your dream is like cutting short the dream of a child. When a child is sacrificed by parents for their dream, it is forms of activity that will make the child not have their dreams. And they will be a servant for all their entire life due to their parents sacrifice to fulfill their dream (Chang 32).
What do I want to create for the children society? How do I want children to prosper in their life? What I’m I going to prove parents that it’s wrong to sacrifice their children? What should I do to bring children into awareness? How I’ am going to send out with them fighting for their right?
Children have their talents that they can nurture slowly to achieve them. From the book, it’s evident that children have different capability, and each of them should nurture their ability. Also, it’s clear that children including Caroline, Ruth, Ann and Charles exhibits extraordinary talents for music, mathematics, history, and many more (Chang 33). All these talents allow them to become the independent individual if they nurture them well and work hard towards achieving them. If these children dreams are sacrificed by their parents, then they will remain uncertified and depend on other people for their survival of for them to succeed (Chang 33).
In addition, sacrificing children by parents for their benefit brings sadness to their house. The house will remain not fit for the kids because they will always be quarreling with their parents every time. The children will go against their parents and rebel every request done by their parents. The Asian American life cultures do not allow any parents to make a sacrifice of their children for them to manage to achieve their dream. Hence, any parents who violate the culture and go ahead to shun their children dreams are unacceptable in any other given culture (Chang 56). Scarifying a child for your dream makes a kid moody and not willing to socialize with parents throughout their life (Chang 44). It has killed the dream of the child, and in case you fail to achieve your dream, and then both of you will be sad throughout your life. It will be a double loss for parents and a tragedy or big blow to sacrificed child.
Chang, in the story of hunger; novella describes a journey of a desperate man (Tian) who wanted to become an American. Tian, a Chinese immigrant, wished to bridge the gap between culturally constructed identities and American. The author explains further that when he failed, he momentarily retreats to a brutally dark and isolated world. After that he appears only after noticing the probable of satisfying his hunger through the ability to play the violin of his daughter. He also puts his nightmares on his wife. Chang explores the interplay between the Identity and heritage through the eyes of children and women, specifically as they struggle to navigate the new landscape of their existence (Chang 7).
Chang's work carries on discovering the themes of the family dissonance against the backdrop of negotiating the various wishes and inspirations between first age group refugees and their children. Chang explains the complex experiences of parents caught between the basic to satisfy the hunger that had initially been their motivation for flight. The severe realities of lives that echo a little of those initial dreams, and their children for whom the experiences of personality are drastically different, endure being a root of much of Chang's work.All schools should in incorporate the achieving individual’s dreams in their syllabus. It is to enlighten all children to nurture their talent as young as possible. It will bring into awareness that they have a right and freedom to nurture their talents and dreams as they grow up. And this right and freedom for children are provided in the law to enable them achieve their dream. Schools should help children identify their dreams and talents while young and encourage them to nurture them with everything to achieve them. Educations for nurturing our dreams and talents should also be included in the media, magazines, newspapers and other sources to ensure that all children get enlightened. It will help them do their best to identify their talents or dreams and nurture them. They should also be motivated and encouraged to attain their dreams in their life. There should be laws governing children and strict to parents so that parents are aware of the consequences when they try to shun down their kids dream to benefit themselves.
In conclusion, always and how parents sacrifice their children and how to stop it are explicitly explained. The reason parents should not sacrifice their children dreams for their selfish benefits are also discussed. Children enlightenment is also proposed to ensure that they are informed and aware of their rights and freedom to achieve their dreams. In addition, the law governing the children rights, agencies, parents, and teachers should put in place all the measures that will enable all children dreams and talents are achieved in the best way possible.
