Essay On Why I Want To Be A Naval Officer / Nurse For The Navy

Dear Mr. Recipient:
This is to kindly record my firm decision to become a nurse attached to the Navy. This solid decision on my part owes its origin to a fire kindled in my heart by my mother at a very young age. Since my childhood, I have been hearing how a team of selfless nurses belonging to the Navy saved hundreds of lives including my own parents’ when they were stranded in an island due to a political turmoil in our country many years ago. “A team of Angels sent by God”- this is how my mother often reminds me the nursing professionals who saved my parents. Hence, I am indebted to them for my life today. I therefore plan to repay my debt by becoming a nurse in the Nave to save many lives like that of my own parents’.
Obviously, my curiosity to become a nurse one day had motivated me to observe nurses serving in the hospitals. It has become a sort of hobby for me to watch the tribe of men and women dressed in white, which is as pure as their kind hearts. Over the past years, I had the opportunity to enjoy the services of many nurses, and each one had made indelible marks in my mind by their unique approach of dealing with strangers and helping them get well. I understand the meaning of unconditional love every time I encounter a nurse. My mother had taught me how to be a patient listener to understand the problems of others. She often recollects how patient the nurses who were treating my parents were while listening to the complaints and pains of others. I believe the personal traits of the nurses have a significant effect in curing their patients. I would like to give back to the Navy what it has unconditionally given to my parents years ago.
Even as I am quite clear in my mind of my call to serve in the Naval Nursing Wing, I am not yet sure how I would get there. I would love to undergo any training program or attend seminars that would expose me to a lucid understanding about the profession. I would highly appreciate your guidance and valuable inputs that would help me join the profession I am passionate about.
