The psychology is divided into the two branches which study the behavior of human in normal and abnormal conditions. Both of the branches deal with the same perspective that is to inspect the mental capabilities of a person and categorized the mental abilities within normal and abnormal. Moreover, the two branches study human behavior with the similar objective. The objective is to identify the human mental behavior and make necessary steps for the therapy of human behavior if the mental capabilities are impaired.
Normal psychology can be illustrated as the human behavior which is similar to other human beings and is socially acceptable. A normal psyche of a person allows an individual to exhibit the behavior which is under the range and limit of being normal. Any deviation from the normal is considered to be abnormal, and the study of these abnormalities is carried out under abnormal psychology (Sharma, 2004). The abnormal attitude can be a result of biological issues such as disruption in neurons or neurotransmitters, etc.. or genetic. They may be due to cognitive matters as an individual develops false assumptions or can be behavioral which is identified by the analysis of mental behavior of an individual (Serfas, 2011). Study of normal behavior holds significance because in this way abnormal psychology can be differentiated from the normal. Consequently, the therapy can be commenced related to the abnormality.
For biological disorders of the mental abnormalities, drugs and medication are administered. Cognitive-behavioral therapy is applied to other mental abnormalities. This therapy helps an individual to get rid of negative thinking and other issues which causes an abnormality of the behavior.
