The American Disability Act (ADA) protects individual with disability from discrimination founded upon their disability. The protection is provided to them in a broad range of activities, including employment, public accommodation, and public service. This is very necessary and helpful for the disabled in America as it ensures that they are not dependent on an individual or group for their basic needs such as shelter, clothing, or food to survive (Henderson, 2001). Allowing the disabled to be independent on their own is one of the reasons why The Americans with Disability Act is a significant standard in the struggle to end discrimination against disabled people. Regardless of the belief that there will always be some prejudice and discrimination against all groups in society, it is a relief that one of those groups has a chance to prove and entrench in a demanding society.
