Comparison between Resistors and Capacitors
This paper is going to analyze the differences of resistor and capacitor connected in a series, parallel and in a combined circuit.
Series Circuit
In a series connected circuit, the current flow in the same amount in all the resistors that are connected in a series. There is no loss of current when the resistor is connected in a series; while voltage drop changes from one resistor to another. Same is the case with capacitor; current flow remains same while the potential difference chances . Resistance adds to equal total resistance in the circuit. All the resistors are treated as a single resistor or capacitor when they are connected in a series if the amount of current flow is to be determined.
Parallel Circuit
In a parallel resistor and capacitor setting, the potential difference or the voltage drop remains same while the current flow differs from one resistor and capacitor to another. It should be noticed that whenever the resistors or capacitors would be connected in parallel circuit they would be considered as a single resistor or capacitor in terms of potential difference . Circuit designed in a parallel setting terms all the resistors or capacitors connected parallel as a single item in terms of potential difference or voltage drop.
Combined Circuit
Most of the times, the resistors and capacitors are connected in a combined circuit that is in series and parallel circuit both. In such case, when the resistors and capacitors are connected in series, current flow remains same but when they are connected in parallel circuit, the voltage drop remains same.

RESPONSE
The main questions about response while responding to the post are related to the turning out of the current in the circuit with the increase of resistors and capacitors in series, parallel and combined circuits. In parallel circuits, the capacity of circuit is added, whereas; it diminishes in series circuits with the addition of resistors. The same is reversed with the addition of capacitors i.e. in parallel circuits, the capacity of the circuit is diminished, whereas; it is added in series circuits (Kuphaldt, 2006).
