There are several components of a PC. The most important components of PC are:
Adapter
Expansion Slot
Data Cable
Memory
Media Cable
An adapter in a computer is a physical device that is used for connecting hardware with the other hardware. In the computer, the adopter is usually built into a card, which can be put into the slot that is present in the motherboard. However, the card, adapts the information, which is shared between the microprocessor of the computer and the devices that are supported by the card. The expansion slot represents a socket on the motherboard that is capable of holding an expansion card. Data cable facilitates communication between the devices. For example, data cable connects the monitor with the computer and makes the images available on the monitor. In a PC, memory comprises of the components that are capable of storing the instructions that have to be executed by processor. Further, memory comprises of the chips on the circuit board and motherboard of the computer. The media cables are also used for establishing connection and communication between the devices.
The advantages of the microprocessor are fast speed, quick movement of data, and performing complex mathematical operations. The disadvantages of the microprocessor include limitation on the size of the data, and improper functioning because of getting over-heated. There are similarities as well as differences between CISC and RISCC. The similarities are that both CISC and RISCC comprise of the set of instructions, used of designing a compiler, and use memory in order to store the instructions. The differ in a way that in CISC the set of instructions is sophisticated, big and complex, but the instructions set of RISCC is small. The designing of compiler is easy in CISC, but it is difficult in RISCC. Further, CISC requires less memory for storing the instructions, and CISC requires more memory for storing the instructions.
