Democracy is a political system that greatly promotes equality in many ways. In a democracy, the voice of the majority is usually heard and taken into consideration. As a matter of facts, the majority group is usually the final decision makes, when it comes to democracy. Unlike other political systems, democracy contributes to gender equality because it does not discriminate against anyone. Nevertheless, democracy, gives women a chance to speak their mind, as well as, make a decision. In a democracy, men and women are given equal chances and opportunities to express themselves (Baffoe-Bonnie, John, and Mohammed,78). Moreover, both the views of men and women are usually taken into consideration without any favorism to men or discrimination.
Collective security is a security plan, where a number of countries get into an alliance to work together in order to strengthen their security against a common enemy. On the other hand, the balance of power means the circulation of equal powers among a group of nations so that no one country becomes more powerful than the other counties. The two security approaches differ in the collective security is a cooperation among many nations against a common threat, while the balance of power a concept that ensures that distributes equal power among nations to ensure that non country dominates the others (Ball, 104). The notion of collective security is utopian because it has proofed difficult to implement in various countries. Collective security could have worked better during the inter-war era, it the countries that were being fought would have come together, cooperated and formed a stronger security system to fight their common enemy.
