It is without a doubt that patients from all the states are faced with financial challenges due to the healthcare systems in the industry of health. These health challenges of health finance are such as the mobilization of funds for health care and putting aside funds to particular types of health care patients. In addition to that, the mechanism of paying for healthcare services has led to raising the cost of healthcare industry (Kramer, 2012). For that reason, the patients are subjected to several problems while seeking the healthcare services, for instance.
The health insurance cover and premiums are not affordable to most of the people in the United States. Even those who are in the position accessing these health insurance premiums are facing unfriendly terms and conditions of using these health insurance from the organization that is offering the insurance premium cover to healthcare. This because, the charging rates are high thus reducing the number of patients who wants to use this method to access healthcare services (Kramer, 2012).
Another challenge that patients face is in the form of the systems in which the healthcare institutions have put in place for the patient to pay for the health services. For instance, the patients who are undergoing surgery are supposed to pay before accessing these services. That denotes a challenging to most of the patients since it an expensive to most of the patients to meet these conditions (Penner, 2013). Furthermore, the health systems used by most of the health institutions in the United States they ask payment for any health care services from the patients before attending them. These clearly show that, if the patients have no funds are likely not to receive health services from the health institutions.
Equally important, the mechanism most of the healthcare institution uses should subsidize some of the expensive health care services. When the hospitals allocate more funds to this kind of valuable service, it will enable the patients to access this type of health services. Moreover, all the stakeholders should invest more towards reducing the budget that is forwarded to patients. That would enable more patients to access quality health care services (Penner, 2013).
Therefore, since the healthcare budgeting is a complex matter, when the healthcare institutions are developing the hospital budget, the nurses are needed to play an important role. For example, they can play the role of preparing the expenditure in their department. The nurse staffs ought to be involved in the decision of preparing the budget since they are in a better position of knowing the facilities they need in the line of duty. On the other hand, the manager ought to audit the preliminary budget from the staff nurses (Rivlin, 2004). In addition, the manager should work closely with finance director of the health institution to ensure both the nurses and the patients have allocated proper funds to most urgent facilities that were desirable. Finally, the chief nurse should work closely together with top management by ensuring, the top management had allocated the right funds to the most critical health facilities and services (Penner, 2013). In conclusion, all the stockholders in the healthcare industry should work towards enabling the accessibility of the health services by all the citizens. That would be deduced from the exceeding elucidation that has been substantiated with comprehensive material.
