Example Of Essay On The Automobile Industry And Social, Economic, And Environmental Responsibilities
There are a number of different tools that can be used to address the social, economic, and environmental responsibilities of the automobile industry. The first tool that is used in the manufacturing process is the Shingo model. This model has three basic tenets: first, ideal outcomes require perfect behavior. Second, the beliefs of the people involved in the system drive the behavior of the people in the system. Finally, principles are responsible for promoting ideal behaviors (Shingo Institute, 2015). In the case of the automotive industry, the Shingo model could be used to address the economic, environmental, and social responsibilities of the industry. This is especially true in terms of the environmental responsibilities of the industry (Shingo Institute, 2015). If the people in the company have good ideals regarding the safety of the environment, then they are likely to steer the company in that direction.
The lean manufacturing system, on the other hand, promotes the social and economic welfare of the industry as a whole. It allows the company to focus on the system in pieces, giving economic power to people with special skills. In addition, by piecing out the work, the company is able to better optimize the technologies available and the flow of products through the system. As this occurs, the company is capable of providing economic and social stability within the community of workers as well as within the community as an entire entity.
