The term often used to describe the ways of thinking by which we choose right from wrong is known as ethics. Conflicts in beliefs of doing the right thing grow when one person or a group interfere with the belief of other group or another person. It wouldn't be possible to figure out who is wrong or who is right when a conflict comes up, but morally, It’s our duty to resolve the two-headed problems to the best of our ability.
The first step is to clear up the issue and figure out exactly what must be decided. This includes gathering all the potential information and recognizing what the problem exactly is.
The next step is to figure out the worth of the issue. The process of figuring out the worth of the issue involves exploring the options which we gathered in step one. This would also involve figuring out facts from beliefs and explanations of why things work the way they do, or simply past experiences.
The third step is to decide what is true and what is not and to make a decision related to what results are most likely to happen. At this stage, if ethical two-headed problem was discovered, it’s high time to figure out the quality of other choices and decide which of those is the most ethical.
The fourth step in this process is to develop a plan to put into use the decision. If all the steps are properly followed, then this step should be comparatively easy since all the honest and ethical risks have been established already.
The final fifth stage is to watch for changes and unusual things that affect the decision. This involves continuous changing of their decision if the first choice fails to be successful. This is a constant process until the matter has been settled.
Ethical decision-making differs from person to person. No one shares the same set of beliefs of what is wrong and what is right. Some people find the death penalty cruel and shocking while other believes it’s just. The ground rules explained above are vivid enough as to not compel a person to countermand their own beliefs. However, it helps them enough to realize what is right and what is wrong in any given scenario.
Ethical normal behaviors and ways of thinking have developed over time and across oceans. People have been raised in a way that now they can clearly draw a line between right and wrong during the process of decision-making. Therefore, I strongly believe that people use the rules described above without any second thoughts. The only challenge for us is to share the bit of knowledge that we possess, help other learn the basic rules of ethical decision-making and this would make out world a lot safer place to live in.
