Plagiarism is copying, paraphrasing and summarizing works in any form without the confirmation link to sources and presenting it as one's own work. Plagiarism with the advent of the Internet has become a serious problem. Once getting into the Internet, knowledge becomes the property of everyone; to comply with copyright is becoming increasingly difficult, almost impossible. Pupils and students cannot submit their works if they contain plagiarism. Gradually, it becomes more difficult to identify the original author. The rapid development of the Internet, along with increasing of computer literacy promotes invasion of plagiarism in various spheres of human activity: Plagiarism is a serious problem in education, industry and the scientific community. Plagiarism is a crime. This is misleading for readers, detrimental to the author and gives undeserved good to plagiarists.
There are several ways to avoid plagiarism.
The first method is to bound text in quotes and reference to the source of text by a link or in brackets. When you give a quote, it should be very precise and unchanged. When quoting is not borrowed from the original source or from any secondary source, it should be indicated in a footnote.
For the obvious reasons, many direct quotations should not be used in the text. The other method is to avoid plagiarism by paraphrasing and citing a source. In order to describe the ideas of the author, his information should be rephrased but not copied from the source. Paraphrasing should be guided by two principles:
- The text should express the essence of the author's ideas, not to distort or disturb their meaning;
- The text must be directly related to the topic under discussion.
