Patient safety is a one of the principles that doctors and nurses must take into account whenever they are discharging their duties. This practice does not only have a moral aspect, the available laws seek to protect the patients from any form of negligence from the doctors, with possible remedies being fines or even manslaughter charges. In the recent past, there have been several disclosures to the effect of such malpractices. In essence, this hinders any progress in the medical sector.
Despite the law addressing this issue, the proposed reimbursement system does not create incentives toward a safer patient experience. Although some of these malpractices are as a result of errors, it would be wrong not to address the causes of such errors. Poor education system and training given to the medical students at schools is one of the aspects that should be addressed. As a matter of fact, the medical field is very complicated and should be taken seriously as it entails dealing with human lives. A small error from the practitioner is enough to lead to the death of an individual. With this in mind, the government should ensure that medical schools and other related institutions offer adequate training to better equip the candidates to meet the challenges in the field. Better training is more likely than not reduce the number of error case in the sector, meaning a promoted patient experience.
Alternatively, the government should introduce tough laws about medical negligence. With such a move, practitioners will be more careful to ensure that they are dedicated when delivering their services. Safe patient experience can only be promoted if the practitioners take more caution while undertaking their duties.
