Introduction
Healthcare is absolutely one of the basic needs of humanity. This is because human beings are faced with various issues in life that makes them vulnerable to diseases and illnesses. Hence, there is always a need for medical attention and health check-ups. In the current generation, people are living in different lifestyles that expose them to such diseases like diabetes, cancer, HIV/AIDs, blood pressure and so on. Various authorities and governments have invested significant resources in their states to combat various diseases, and find lasting solutions to their subjects as far as such diseases are concerned (Hutter, 2010). Globally, there are such organizations as World Health Organization, Unicef, and other NGOs that are involved in matters that relate to human health. This paper is a research proposal on a Health Maintenance Organization focusing on how people can be assisted to prevent and cure chronic diseases.
The rationale (purpose) for the study was to find out how quality health can be availed to all people across the globe at affordable costs, while offering a maintained solution to chronic diseases. In addition, this research paper finds out ways to stop the deaths caused by leukemia in this region. By learning the causes of the disease, we will suggest possible solutions to combat the illness that has not been lately contained. This will be done through educating the public on the control measures applicable to avoid deaths from leukemia (Hutter, 2010). In this case, we may have a look at such diseases like polio, HIV/AIDs, cancer, and other lifestyle-related illnesses and compare the deaths they cause with those caused by leukemia. In doing so, the findings can be used by health organizations to ensure that health care is given a priority by governments, and authorities, hence reducing death rates at the current generation. This research involves members of the public through such ways as interviews, filling questionnaires, and asking for their observations on the illness as well.
Research questions
The research questions that will guide this study includes,
What are the main causes of leukemia?
Are the causes mentioned above, in any way, related to the environment?
What are the current curative and preventive measures offered by health maintenance organizations?
What are the possible roles of health maintenance organizations in preventing the disease?
What are the recommendations to all the health maintenance organizations at large?
The hypothesis will be formulated as follows:
H0: health maintenance organizations play a crucial role in preventing and curing leukemia among men and women in India.
H1: health maintenance organizations not play a crucial role in preventing and curing leukemia among men and women in India.
Methodology
This research will employ Interviews and Observations methods in order to collect the necessary data from the participants. This will involve filling questionnaires, interviews, observations, and using experiments to find out the details on the disease. The research will be involved in researching and studying on various chronic diseases that are prone in the eastern parts of India and the surrounding regions. In this paper, I will focus on the disease leukemia which is common in this region. Leukemia is a disease that affects the genetically formulated settings of the blood in a being. The sample size will comprise of 20 men and 20 women aged between 25 to 45 years. Interviews are the better methods to acquire data from the audience because it provides the raw information from the ground. In this case, the researcher is able to obtain a larger scope of information hence, processing and dissemination of original data is guaranteed. On other cases, researchers use questionnaires because they provide a future references to them. Hence, they are able to store the raw data, and use it in the future either for comparisons or to check improvements, deterioration, or where there are no changes.
Timetable for completing the project
The entire project will be completed within a period of 7 months in line with the requirements of the institution. The main activities will be as follows;
Activity duration
Planning the research 2 weeks
Preparing questionnaires 1 month
Recruiting participants 1 month
Collecting data 1 month
Data analysis 2 month
Data interpretation 1 month
Preparing final report 2 weeks
Expected Result
At the end of the research, the researcher expects to find that many participants believe that health maintenance organizations play a crucial role in prevention and curing of leukemia. This response will be expected to come from both men and women with almost equal number.
