One of famous movements in America named Tea Party, the movement is known for its traditional positions. The movement demands the national debt and national budget deficit to be reduced by limiting the expenses and taxes of a government. In 2010, Tea Party was successful and then it failed in defeating Barack Obama’s reelection in 2012. Tea Party also has sponsored many protests and supported many political candidates since 2009.
The Tea Party was successful in 2010 when the Republican made major gains but then in 2012, the victory of Barack Obama over this party was devastating. The end of this party was broadcasted loudly after the party was defeated by Barack Obama. Most of the American ended up saying that they do not like the Tea Party, its strategy and tactics (Skocpol & Williamson, 2012).
It was considered that the party would be dead after the devastating defeat of 2012. But in not much of time Grand Old Party (GOP) started soul-searching; radical forces dragged many forces at GOP House-Senate member to at least going along with extortion tactics in forcing the President Obama into signing the other GOP priorities. Tea party supported in every step of the act played by GOP. This platform was the main platform on which the party had lost in 2012 (Rosenthal & Trost, 2012).
Tea Party was declared an enduring party at the start of an election in 2014, but some losses have raised many questions for the party and its future tactics. The party now has to give attention in making a proper strategy and tactics in order to sustain and influence people and making a strong influence over the legislative process, or else, there are chances for the party to end up supporting or undermining other potential political parties in the United States of America.
