Free Wi-Fi Access

This is the most current and highly applicable technology among computer device users (Swartz, 2011). It is a wireless technology that allows users within a local setting or a specific location to have access to internet services through the personal computer devices such as: Mobile phones, I-pads, laptops, tablets among others. Many organisations, institutions, residential apartments and other public places are currently providing free access to Wi-Fi services to their clients as a means to enhance their well-being through access to information on the internet (Swartz, 2011).

How Wi-Fi can be Applied by McDonald’s Fast Food Outlets

McDonald’s is one of the major fast food outlets that have attracted a large number of clients in the entire United States and other parts of the world (www.mcdonalds.com). This basically means that the company experiences an influx of clients on a daily basis. However, due to the current high rates of competition in the Fast Food Industry created by other rival fast food companies like KFC and others, it is important that McDonald’s focuses on provision of other dimensions of customer incentives rather than focusing affordability of their products and quality. One of these incentives that can be provided by the company is free access to Wi-Fi for clients taking fast food meals in their food outlets. Provision of free Wi-Fi access to clients taking fast food outlets will act as a strategy to attract more clients, thus enhancing the company’s competitive advantage. This is due to the fact access to internet services has become a basic need among the current generation, especially those who own internet enabled devices such as phones (Minoli, 2013). Thus, many clients tend to prefer the use of public facilities that can allow them access internet.
