Example Of The Analysis Of The Presentation Delivery Of, Essay
“The Funniest Leadership Speech Ever!”
A great presentation comes from a well-rehearsed, well written speech. A presentation starts with good content, but the delivery of said presentation is what matters to the audience. Body language, eye contact and the fluidity of the speaker drives a presentation’s delivery forward and gets the point of the presentation across to the audience all while keeping the audience interesting in what the presentation is about. A leadership video posted on YouTube by SpecificDusty showcases the correct ways to deliver an impressive presentation and captivate an audience without ever missing a beat. The speaker in the video incorporates all key elements in delivering a presentation that is engaging, entertaining and informative.
The key element of SpecificDusty’s speech was taking a relatable approach to the audience and entertaining them while inspiring them. He wore a bright colored polo shirt with matching socks, which he chose to point out amusingly, and kept the crowd’s attention by engaging with them in a conversational way with his consistent eye contact and his straight on posture. He kept his hands and body movement to a minimum unless emphasizing a point to help keep down any distraction to his words. He enunciated well and used an audible level for the crowd to listen to except when necessary in cracking a joke or impersonating himself or his father throughout the speech. He gestured well throughout the entire presentation without looking around too much at his assumed PowerPoint presentation or looking down at his note cards.
Throughout the entire presentation, SpecificDusty relates to the audience about himself and where he came from and keeps the crowd engaged with his humor and stories. He made sure his voice was on pitch at every significant focus and raised and lowered his volume to reflect the key points. He did not seem to be distracted by the audience and did not laugh at his own jokes. He stayed on topic and had a consistent rhythm throughout. This presentation was clearly well-rehearsed with no “um’s” or unneeded pausing. Advice for this speaker would be to continue giving great speeches, as it was clear from his presentation that he has a firm grasp on the correct delivery of presentations, how to engage the audience, how to relate to the audience, and how to continually keep the audience listening to his every word. This presentation made the speaker sound much like a storyteller, it stated what background he came from and how he got where he is today. His use of body language and vocal strategies paid off in this presentation as it was well received by his audience.
