The brain is the most wonderful thing for it gives us consciousness and the ability to think and process the things that we perceive around us. Of all the organs of the body, the brain is the most important part of it. This is because it is the one responsible for controlling everything in our body. It has three main parts – the cerebrum, the cerebellum, and the brain stem. Each of these has its specific function to fulfill. The brain is filled with networks of blood vessels. The cortex, or the thinking wrinkles, is the specialized outer layer of the cerebrum where we generate thoughts, interpret sensations, make memories, and even control our movement (Brain Tour). Our brain is a neuron forest that makes thinking and sending message to the other parts of the body possible. Synapses are the connections of nerve cells that can trigger the release of neurotransmitters that are responsible for carrying signals from one cell to another (Brain Tour).
Radiologic technology brings upon a more advanced way of detecting diseases in the body by thoroughly scanned by radiation. A career in this field must be a challenging one because the person must be educated in the anatomy of the body, the proper way of using the high technology equipment, and radiation safety and protection (ASRT). And in order to learn all of these, the brain must be functioning well. Also, in neuroradiology, the brain is of the parts that needed diagnostic imaging (RSNA).
As the command center of everything, the brain holds a vital position. Without it, the body cannot function. If it is damaged, a lot could go wrong. Diseases in the brain like Alzheimer’s take a great toll on the bodies of the individual who has it. The brain is greatly shrunk by this disease and the person will have trouble with his or her memory.
