Both readings evaluate tagging, which is mainly defined as a process of annotating different types of contents, such as videos, blogs, images, and bookmarks through various Web 2.0 platforms, such as YouTube, Flickr, Twitter and others. In the reading, ‘what drives content tagging: the case of photos on Flickr', the researchers have identified what motivates people to continue tagging. According to the findings, the level of public and self-motivations of tagging depends on associated benefits. Therefore, I agree with the argument that the levels of tagging and its advantages to the users are the main motivational factors. The researcher illustrates that Photo tagging has so many advantages to users that and most people engage in the practice to draw the benefits. One of the best examples is in the second research reading, which determines the impact of collaborative tagging in nutrition management.
Specifically, this study evaluates or scrutinizes the use and benefits of tagging in nutritional management. Like any other uses, nutritionists use tagging to educate people on various eating habits. I believe Tagging is one of the simplest yet most effective digital methods of retrieving and sharing content. The research has indicated that it is easier to interpret photos and images, as most of them are self-explanatory. Through tagging, users can remember various contents of meals; hence, influencing their daily diets. In this case, I think it is through such benefits that most users are motivated to keep on tagging and relying on tags for their social and economic activities. I also rely on tagging for my professional and personal operations. In addition, I market some of my products through photo tagging; a strategy I believe has kept me in the business for a while now. In this case, it is true that the benefits of tagging, like that on nutritional management through collaborative tagging are the ones that motivate most users to adopt and continue with the behaviour.
Conclusively, tagging an easy and quick way on annotating content, and with the proliferation of internet technology, it is widely used in various sites including Facebook, Blogger, Flickr, and Amazon. Therefore, organizations can use it form marketing their products as well as introducing employees to the public.
