Finding A Dream Job: Clinical Dentist Essay

I want to work as a dentist because this profession is one of the highest paid fields in the country. The dental technology is rapidly growing with the passage of time as well, and therefore, large number of males and females has joined the profession in order to make money. However, ethical standards of the field are dying out as a result of above-mentioned trend of behaviors in the engaged and potential joiners (Bryant, MacEntee and Browne, 80).
I will need to reinstate ethical and medically valid set of professional behaviors, and therefore, I am looking to become a clinical dentist. I am glad to find out that there are no specific physical requirements to become a dentist, and the profession is relatively immune to gender discriminatory regimes as well. I have researched a great deal about the apparent requirements of the profession, and it caused my current information level to increase. I am now aware of the fact that sharp eyesight is a great source of advantage in dentistry. Fortunately, I have healthy eyes those are going to help me in terms of emerging as an effective professional.
In the light of further research, I educated myself about the needed academic needs of the field, and a person needs to have an undergraduate medical science degree. Afterwards, the students who have a keen interest in the field join the program of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). Same result can be achieved through becoming the part of a degree referred to as Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).
I want to share that historically, my family had dental problems because of inherent genetic defects, and therefore, my elders had to go through intensive medical procedures in order to save their oral assets. However, I was very caring about my teeth from early childhood, and because of this reason, I was able to preserve my teeth, and they are right in partial pristine condition to say the least. Additionally, I was motivated to become a doctor from early days of my life because I considered healing someone as a blessing, but I was very depressed to see and witness the extreme ethical degradation of my dream job in the recent years because people are working as dentists to make money, and they have stopped investing in themselves as their economic needs and wants are adequately fulfilled for the time being.
However, the tide is turning, and sleepy minds are not picking the change in the wind because they are too much satisfied with the monetary gains of their labor. The customers are accumulating large amount of information through the internet, and therefore, they are becoming more and more sensitive about the selection of their dentists.
The fashion of having family dentists is growing in the country of America as well. The demand is dying out for those professionals who have limited effectiveness in terms of getting the job done (Kim, Damiano and Hand, 698). The customer groups are advocating that the doctors are creating repeat sales by partially solving the dental issues of the patients, and therefore, they have enough knowledge about widespread application of economic theory and greed in the noblest work of all.
I will have to understand and apply scientific knowledge in order to gain mastery in my beloved job. I cannot rely on technological aids because they are mechanical in nature. The machines can fail so I have to possess the ability to switch to manual practice of dentistry when the time will call for it. I cannot practice as a dentist if I am colorblind, and therefore, I have to get my eyes tested in this regard before pursuing career in the featured field of work. Importantly, I have to provide educational services to those who consult me regarding their oral health.
Additionally, the dental issues are consequences of failure to take proper care of the teeth, and the procedure will not work until backed up by efficient cleansing practices in one’s daily life. I have to keep an eye out for pain relievers and other relevant biochemical developments in my work so that I can provide my patients with updated piece of advice. I ought to embrace the concept of teamwork because many people are working in the field of dentistry, and I will not be able to resolve all the issues those faced by my patients. I have to refer my clients to other doctors who have certain expertise that can help my customers.
The dentists are making $ 59,775 on average per annum, and the growth rate is 16%. The profession is expanding above averagely, and therefore, there is demand for dentists in the future. However, there are limited numbers of growth prospective in the profession because if one is doing a job as a dentist then, he or she will most definitively avoid developmental chances those may be carried by a decision of going into private practice.
