Ref: Recommendation Letter Supporting Mr. Xxxx Yxxx Admission Application to PCLL
Dear Selection Committee Members,
It gives me great pleasure to strongly endorse and support the application of Mr. Xxxx Yxxx for admission to Postgraduate Certificate of Laws (PCLL). Having known Mr. Xxx closely for over 4 years and worked in professional relationship for most of those years, I believe that I am in an excellent position to evaluate his suitability for admission to PCLL.
I first met Mr. Xxxx in 2011 when we were colleagues at Messrs Alex Ho & Company. In the role of a Legal Assistant, Mr. Xxxx often interacted with me in preparing legal drafts, attending court and Trade Mark Registry hearings with legal practitioners, court filings, liaison with clients and/or other parties, and assisting legal practitioners in the course of cases. In my experiences, I invariably found Mr. Xxxx to be very forthcoming, intelligent, hard working, meticulous, analytical, thoughtful, and detail-oriented, persistant, proactive, well-organised and able to solve problems with excellent communication skills. All these qualities will definitely lead him to pursue a successful legal education as well as fruitful legal career if a chance of PCLL education is given. His work ethic is impeccable and he is highly passionate and eager to advance his knowledge and experience. We always interacted and worked well together. Based on his effort and interest in cases, I treated him as a colleague and a trainee solicitor rather than a paralegal or assistant.
Having moved on from Messrs Alex Ho & Company, I started my own firm Messrs Y. T. Tong & Co., Solicitors. When Mr. Xxxx approached me about the possibility of joining at my team at Messrs Y. T. Tong & Co., Solicitors, I did not hesitate to extend him an offer to join my firm. Having worked with him previously, I know how knowledgeable and hard working he is. My confidence in Mr. Xxxx worked out well for my firm since we work as a team to solve problems and chase deadlines together. We also often share our views and perspectives of life as an attorney. It was me who strongly encouraged him to pursue PCLL education to become a full pledged lawyer. I did so based on his eagerness to seek and obtain advanced law education.
I was rather surprised to see his application for admission to PCLL did not succeed last year. Given his positive attitude to learning and hard work, I thought that he would have no problem getting into the program. Perhaps, the admissions committee placed heavy emphasis on Mr., Xxxx academic results while completing the LLB degree. In my view, those results do not justify or reflect his diligent work ethic, passion for learning and commitment to seek and pursue a legal career.
It also gives me a great pleasure to extend an open invitation to Mr. Xxxx to return to my firm. In this regard, I am guaranteeing a seat of training to Mr. Xxxx after he completes the PCLL education. In addition, I intend to retain the services of Mr. Xxxx once he completes the training. Furthermore, I am happy to support Mr. Xxxx during course of his PCLL studies. In summary, Mr. Xxxxx would be an excellent candidate for the PCLL program, given his strong motivation to learn and advance in his career. I extend my strong support to his candidacy for admission into PCLL program and sincerely urge the selection committee to consider his overall education, experience and work profile. I wish him well in his future endeavors including the completion of PCLL. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or more information.
Sincerely,
Yyyyy cccc
