Introduction
Motivation plays a critical role in the performance of the workforce. Organizations with highly productive work force are the most productive have a culture of success. The responsibility, of motivating the work force, lies in the management of the organization. The majority of the organizations motivate their employees but only a few motivation strategies work. If motivation methods are applied inappropriately, they are likely to be a source of discord between the employees and reduce productivity in the company. Motivated employees retain a high level of innovation while at the same time they produce high-quality output. The motivation of the employees has to be managed in order, not to spiral out of control and lead to an organizational disaster.
Overview of the Amazon.com
Amazon.com is one of the most successful business enterprises that were ever built after the advent of the internet. It is the largest internet retailer in the North and South America. Amazon started an online bookstore but has soon diversified to other commodities such as consumer electronics, food, and jewelry. At the helm of this organization is Jeff Bezos, who started the world greatest online retailer in his garage. He leads over 132,000 employees who are under him. He has managed to keep the employees motivated to deliver to millions of customers around the world as well as achieve the business targets. Bezos succeeded in an Arena, so many companies had failed before him. He handles more employees than any other company of its caliber. Over the years, the company has ventured into new markets in foreign nations.
Problem Statement
The majority of the online businesses have failed miserably and those that succeed fail to keep their employees in check. What are some of the online companies that have filed for bankruptcy or failed to control their employees? How does Bezos appraise the motivation methods and how does he use them effectively? What are some of the motivation techniques used by Bezos and how do they influence the employees? How can other managers determine what motivation methods to use in their companies?

The internet has been a field of anarchy for businesses. Online stores such as flooz.com registered catastrophic failure in an attempt to start online currency. Robert Levitan, the founder of the company, had poor relationship with his employees, and soon the company registered for bankruptcy. Jeff Bezos, the Chief operating officer of the company, argues that employees have to be motivated to perform their task. The company pays for the tuition for its employees to learn new courses. The company has given the employees a chance to choose their career choice. Amazon.com employees are also allowed to work from home. They are given an option of working from the stores or working from home. The manager regularly holds meeting with the employees to brainstorm and get in touch with them.

Commit to constant education of their employees and offer to pay for their tuition fees.
Give employees enough freedom and those willing to work from home to be allowed to do so.
