This article is about the program provided by the Islamic Salvation Front (F.I.S.) of Algeria in 1989 which was directed to build an Islamic country in accordance with holy Quran and Sunna of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.v). F.I.S. believed that Western and Eastern ideologies weren’t safeguard enough to rule the state as sharia laws. It counted seven points proving the necessity of implementing all-encompassing program of an Islamic state into life as Allah says Quran is the only treatment of all questions. Sharia, science and parliament were main methods of its political actions. As all people in Algeria were Muslims it was strongly believed in the success of Islamic ideology in the state.
Political axis was aimed to provide the equity of political, economic and social opportunity and encourage the spirit of collective work. To achieve these objectives the party constructed reforms in all spheres of the state: political institutions, military, policy, education, agriculture, internal and external trade, electoral and administrative systems.
Economical solution of problems was based on reaching the balance between supply and demand of consumption. The party proposed it would avoid inflation and debt. The party stated that industrialization brought about more poverty and dependence so improving agriculture was treated as a solution.
As flourishing of industry led to dependence, complementarity and mutual reinforcement between agriculture and industry must be ruled. Small and medium size factories were decided to be built in order to create new jobs and respond to the needs without depending on raw materials from abroad.
Educational system should work in accordance to Islam and any ideologies and concepts that had contrary values of Islam must be removed.
Health care and cultural reforms intended to be implemented in order to raise healthy and well behaved population that guarantee a better life for future generations. Scientific and Islamic books would be supplied.
Army was obliged to be trained in Islamic spirit ruled by faith.
It was short summary of the reforms which were all associated with word of Allah, the Quran and the Sunna. I do believe that Muslim countries certainly should take religion into consideration however it is vivid to adapt politics and economy to modern world conditions.
