There is a need for the establishment of various organizations and regulation that governs the operations of manufacturing industries. The function of these entities should be to closely monitor the courses of actions assumed by these producing organizations. Ethical considerations should be central in all the production actions of these manufacturing organizations. Specifically, entities that are producing commodities that are to be assumed should be closely monitored. This will aid in making sure that the provided commodities are healthy and suitable for human consumption. In addition, ethical standards with respect to the environment should be closely monitored (Bainbridge, Roco, National Science and Technology Council (U.S.) & Workshop on Societal Implications of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2001). The courses of actions undertaken by these operating entities should promote healthy standards at all levels. In connection with this, the paper will strive to explicate certain concerns relating to the production and distribution of food products with supplements of nanoscale ingredients. In addition, the operation of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will also be examined closely. This will be implemented through a series of questions that will allow insight into abstract ideas.

What are the ethical responsibilities of manufacturers and sellers of supplements with nanoscale ingredients?

Initially, in the inclusion of these nanoscale ingredients in food components, manufacturers have the responsibility to consider the stipulated proportions that are in support of the human health. This is more so due to the revelation that uneven quantity of the nanoscale ingredients can result into certain health complications (Allhoff, Fritz, Lin, Patrick, & Moore, Daniel, 2009). In addition, in undertaking these production procedures, there will be a need for the manufacturers to adhere to the stipulated courses of action in order to maintain the resulting qualities. This can be achieved through the adoption of strict regulations that directly controls the courses of actions adopted in the course of these manufacturing processes (Cameron & Mitchell, 2007). On the other hand, the sellers are also required to assume certain measures that are ethically accepted. Firstly, advisory programs should be allowed for the final consumers in order to curb wrong usage that could arise. Additionally, within every society, effective laws should laws should be adopted that regulates the existing prices of commodities. In this connection, it will be an ethical consideration for sellers of these food components to set prices that are in line with the qualities and the quantities of the components. In ensuring this, cases of consumers’ exploitation will be curbed. This ethical requirement can also be implemented through initiation of strict policies and entities that closely monitors that pricing strategies besides other operating tendencies assumed by the sellers of the products. More importantly, the sellers of these supplements should only offer them for sale in the event of a legally accepted and medically tested usage (Jain, 2012). This will help in promoting high health standards of persons owing to the adverse health implications that are associated with the use of these supplements containing nanoscale ingredients.
What are the social and ethical implications of these products as they move through their full lifecycle? What, if anything, should be done?
In the event that the products are used solely for the medically intended usage, the results will be desirable in the event of realization of the full life cycle. On the other hand, wrong usage of the products that are not medically recommended will result into adverse implications. This may not be evident at the initial stages but will be more pronounced in the event of the full development of the supplements within the body organs. Socially, the use of these products has been adopted among persons of diverse social backgrounds owing to the fallacies and certain truths concerning their usages.
What are some important environmental, ethical considerations related to these products and how do these contrast with an individual's right to consume these products?
Owing to the wide adoption of the use of these supplements, there have been an increasing number of wastes products resulting from the by-products of the supplements. This has posed a lot of challenges to the event more attempts to realize sustainability in the environment. A number of creams used resulting from the nanoscale products proven to cause a lot of depletion to the ozone layer besides other forms of environmental pollution associated with other forms of these products (Habibi, 2001). This has put various lives at risk as these pollution activities can be fatal at advanced stages. The impact that these products has on the environment is very ironical with the individual’s right the Federal government allows for persons pertaining the use of these products.
How do these products affect groups of people in society differently (i.e. people of different socio-economic status, race, religion, etc.)? What are the related ethical implications?
The impact of supplements containing nanoscale products varies among persons due to a number of facets in the use of the products (Hamilton, 2003). Initially, the products exist in different grades and forms. For example, sun creams that contain certain proportion of nanoscale products exist in various grades (Scalia & Garner, 2008). The lowly graded components of these supplements are believed to have more adverse effects owing to the poor measures integrated in their productions. This, therefore, implies that persons from relatively low social and economic status are likely to at high risks of being affected that persons within high social and economic class. This will also translate to the various races within the country due to the different social positions that they manifest. In line with this, the related ethical implications are the difference in the extent of the health implications that the use of these products has on the persons of different facets (Mukhopadhyay, 2012).

Should the FDA be regulating supplements more strictly? How?

6. What role, if any, should the government play in warning, educating, and informing the public about supplements with nanoscale ingredients?
Initially, owing to the adverse health implications that the use of these products has on persons, these educative measures should be included in the curriculum of the country in order to allow wide sensitization of the related consequences resulting from these products. Additionally, agencies concerned with these control activities such as FDA should be allowed the power to prosecute and to levy penalties on persons and institution that acts contrary to the law. This will, therefore, help in curbing the wide recommended practices common in the country.
