CVF is based on hierarchy, emphasis on documentation, measurement and information management. These process leads to control and stability. According to Belasen (2012), hierarchy works best when time is not a crucial factor and where the task to be undertaken is well understood. Further, in organic systems, emphasis on growth, readiness, external support and resource acquisition. This thereby brings creativity and innovation especially where people have self-control but are inspired.
CVF suggests that organizations are intrinsic contradictory entities, thus, organizational effectiveness are fundamentally contradictory, opposing, and might be mutually exclusive. An organization is expected to maintain integration and stability by paying attention to their procedures and internal workings. CVF also suggests the intrinsic contradictions faced by managers and organization on two dimensions.
Effective manager communicates and are clear on what matters, and model the desired behaviors and values. Less effective managers do not put emphasis on what they talk about. (Belasen, 2012) less effective managers irritates at discussing on what matters. Effective managers insist on dealing with the most progressive issues despite how unpleasant they might be. Less effective managers find lame excuses and all sorts of reasons not to deal with real things and rather spend their entire time dealing with what they are conversant with.
Managers are faced by various challenges since they are required to ensure personal and sound relationship with other staffs. They encounter hardship especially where team members lack cooperation. Therefore, managers are required intensive communications to ensure an intrinsic identity that brings the team together.
On the other hand, a manager maintains high performance by sharing visions with the team members. This coordinates with their actions and thus it makes them strive in their work (Belasen, 2012). Similarly, master managers should ensure continuous development and learning among the team members. This means they should allocate some time to offer education to the members such as; leadership, team building and problem-solving to ensure a healthy working environment and improves organization performance.
