Abstract
There is no doubt in the fact that Google is considered as the best company to work. There are a number of factors that have made Google as the most desirable workplace at present. The company that was opened as a private firm in 1998 has now more than 70 offices in more than 40 countries. The most significant element is that Google encourages the innovative ideas produced by the employees by supporting them within the workplace. The organizational culture of the firm has a high level of commitment with quality and innovation. One of the main reasons behind the success of Google is its huge advertisement budgets that help the company to bring awareness about its products to the potential customers. Apart from this, the huge spending on research and development also provides a competitive edge to the Google Company. Furthermore, the SWOT analysis of the firm has shown that the social media networking sites like Twitter and Facebook are posing a significant threat to Google+. Moreover, the company lacks in mobile marketing, which can give it tough time to compete with the rivals.
The biggest success factor for the Google Company is the highly skills, and talented workforce. Undoubtedly, the firm has invested in the training and development of the employees in order to present them as a competitive advantage within the technology industry. Moreover, the urge of the firm to continuously innovate the things has helped it in gaining the most prominent position within the marketplace, which has made Google as the number one place to work at. Finally, the uncompromising attitude of Google towards the quality of the products has added value to its success and repute within the technology world.

This report provides a brief overview of the company and its history to have a background about how Google started. Google's main headquarter is located in Mountain View, California. However, nowadays it owns more than 70 offices in 40 different countries. The company enjoys a highly skilled, experienced, and talented staff of in the region of 56,000 employees based on December 2014 records. The company recruits employees based on the skills, talents, and potential in occupying different positions at the organization. Google encourages innovation by giving the employees the freedom of exploration on their ideas and thoughts. Due to their positive reputation in the industry, Google employees are continuously sought and followed by the rivals in boosting their competitiveness.
History
Google Company was incorporated as a private company on 4th September 1998, and later went through IPO (initial public offer) on August nineteenth 2004. From its formation and incorporation, the company has recorded a tremendous growth in its earnings and performance amid competition in the market. By the end of 2008, the company was voted and awarded as one of the most powerful and effective brand in the market globally. This tremendous and incredible growth that the company recorded is attributed to several factors that include product development, partnerships, acquisitions, employees and many other factors.
Current Status/ SWOT analysis
Google has developed numerous of successful products and services in keeping off the competition from other technological innovations in the market. With the increasing demands of the company’s products, the Google has heavily invested in advertising through programs such as Google Analytics thereby allowing for trafficking of the advertisements on the websites. In addition, Google has branded its products that are extremely superior to other products in the technological industry. Due to its determination and urge for continuous innovation, the company spends huge amounts of money in research and development. According to company’s financial reports for the period ended 2013 and 2014, the annual expenditure on research and development have been on the increasing end as the company aims at producing unique and more innovative products. With high expenditures on research and development, the company has recorded a slightly increased in revenues collections that allow for break even in its operation.
Google faces stiff competition from Microsoft’s Bing and Yahoo. Facebook, Twitter relies on websites to interact with the people and such competitions posses a major threat to Google+. In general, market competition is constantly intensifying and innovating and because of this, Google must keep its brand and pace to remain competitive in the industry. Other challenges include, acquisitions and security concerns in the technological industry, inherent risks to infrastructure and reduction of spending by the advertisers represent a threat to Google. Due to change in trend over social media use, many advertisers use mobile devices in communicating with clients posing a threat to Google advertisement revenues.
Work Environment
Google encourage a organizational culture that support innovation and quality service delivery to the customers and welfare of the employees. The company proudly advertises and makes its offices public displaying employees at work on its websites. Because of its strong culture of innovation and quality services, each of the Google Company is encouraged to continuously come up with innovative and new ideas in promoting development of quality and creative products for the customers. This is confirmed by the Google policy that allows the employees to independently work on their products two hours every day as a way of promoting innovation. Google has a strong belief in supporting creativity and providing an enabling operation environment that provide quality of life to the employees.
Conclusion
Google encourages innovation by giving the employees the freedom of exploration on their ideas and thoughts and this is the main reason why I would consider it a great place to work at. This attribute valuable contribute to the vast human resource in equipping the company’s engineers with necessary skills and experience in meeting the standard expectation of the company. Therefore, Google's corporation customs is an exceptional, valuable and irreparable strategy that spurs the long term achievement of the company goals and objectives. As a result, Google is still placed as the number one company to work for.
