Many people nowadays are being conscious with their health. This is because a lot of people are losing their lives because of health problems. According to the Barry Franklin and his colleagues (n.d.), in the United States, the leading cause of mortality is cardiovascular diseases. This statistics does not only occur in the United States, but to the rest of the countries around the world. This has come to the attention of many people and asked their selves if exercise is the key. With the threats of cardiovascular diseases, do we have to include exercises in my daily routine? It is clear that physical inactivity is a major risk to our health, especially to our hearts. With this, people should know the benefits that exercise can bring for our hearts.
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, physical activities or exercises can protect our heart is many ways. It can both reduce the risk of heart problems and diseases, and reduce or even prevent the factors that can lead to a heart disease. Exercise can decrease the heart rate and the blood pressure of the heart. It can also decrease the workload of the heart and prevent any shortness in breathing. If people do regular exercises, they will have an improved muscle function of the heart and may increase the capability of the patient with cardiac problems to take in and use oxygen (Franklin et al.). People who exercise a lot experience a decrease in the body weight and fats, the blood pressure, and have favorable effects on the insulin resistance and the clotting of the blood. The benefits of exercise in our hearts only shows that people should start considering having it in their routines.
