Every day, the media spectrum such as the television, newspapers, radios and even the internet portray a world that is different from the reality. In contrast to its earlier years, the twentieth century seems to become the booming age for the radical development of media communication. Nowadays, human minds are bombarded with graphical images, and information about the society. Because of this, people relied on newspapers and television to deliver them the hottest and juiciest information straight whilst sitting beside the coffee table. The media exists because it caters the people’s hunger for information about the issues of the society. Moreover in its midst, the media managed to create the ‘spiral effect’ or Spiral of Silence, a theory of Neumann by which the opinion of the majority is more likely to be accepted by the minority. Thus, because of the flooding of information, more individuals became more active in participating in such lengthy political discussions, each having their own personal opinion about a certain issue. In this case, the group who belongs to the minority will end up getting swallowed by the ones belonging to the majority. The issues of wars, especially the ISIS made the media to become more active in feeding up the public’s hunger for information. The media became the public’s primary means of sustaining the information they want. The wars in turn became more sensational to the public.
