A movie is nothing but an idea or an imagination in the director’s head. Some visionary storytellers have this inherent art of storytelling imbedded in their genes. They are full of such powerful creativity that the final product of their imaginations can alter the viewer’s perception of the world. One such portrayal of inspiring ideas are in the blockbuster trilogy of Movie ‘The Matrix’. How can one be sure that the world around them is real or fictional? The answer of this fundamental question is in the movie Matrix in versatile style of Wachowsky brothers. When one looks around the world that is growing around, it becomes a deadly curiosity to understand what is real and what is unreal. All the pleasures put human being into a sense of euphoria, and all the sorrows and pain puts them in the ground. From the spiritual point of view, the movie matrix gives all the answers in a subtle way. Amidst all the visual effects and ‘Bullet time’, the true message of the movie lies in the fundamental philosophy of the story. In one of the interview, the directors of the movie trilogy mentioned that the story of the movie is inspired from the ancient knowledge of ‘Bhagwad Geeta’. It is an ancient text of knowledge that talks about the spiritual enlightenment of a human being’s real purpose of existence. The physical body of ‘The One’ that represents all the strength of humanity, and its quest to find the truth of their existence. ‘The One’ should choose the right path and make some crucial decisions to come to a revelations about his true existence. The physical world that one sees around them is just a reflection of the imagination of what the ignorance of human mind. In reality, the real human self is unaware of its true identity. All the worldly pleasures and sorrows are mere imaginations and delusions. These pleasures are an effort of the ignorant mind to hide the real knowledge of the capabilities of human mind and body. The decisions that Neo makes in the first movie leads him to enter the real world from the virtual world. The real Neo is trapped in the matrix build by the machines. These machines dawn the planet and have empties all the possible resources of energy. They have produced so much pollution in the atmosphere that the sun that is the prime energy source for all the machines is covered by black clouds of toxic air. Thus the only clean energy source that they have in hand is the human body, which is a rechargeable energy source. Hence they put human body in the delusional state in a test-tube. They fill the mind with a delusion of an altered reality that is filled with the pleasures of the physical world. Such humiliation for human race is the barrier that ‘The One’ has to break to save the humanity. That is the soul of this movie. Hence, the character in this movie fight their way through all the evil invasion from the machines to stop their march. However, finally, they are able to fight the evil off and restore the real humanity again in the earth. Based on these analysis it is clear that Jung and Tarot and The Matrix trilogy movies are very much similar in various perspectives. The role of Major Arcana and Neo are very similar. In Jung and tarot, Arcana has to make crucial life altering decisions to uncover the real truth hidden behind the curtains of delusion. Similarly, in Matrix, Neo also has to choose the right path to realize his true identity. Both in the book as well in the movie, the authors depict a parallel universe that is a shadow or a cover to hide the real universe. However, determination and strong will of one main character leads to destruct all the barriers, and the truth unfolds. Hence, there is clear similarity between these two creations.
