The end of 1972 was marked by a triumphant re-election for a second term Nixon was relatively quiet for him. Nixon refused to provide comments about the prosecutor's office of government and audio surveillance recorded in the Oval Office tapes documenting conversations Nixon and his assistants (the existence of these records became known to the court from the testimony of some officials).
