I think that the information about segmentation is enough to develop a primary segmentation scheme for the brand as the information included valuable statistic data about frozen dinner and organic food consumption among different people of different age, ethnicity, education, and sex. Information about obesity likelihood among these people is also very important for the development of a segmentation scheme.
Which information do you consider more valuable, the trends Carol was look at or the facts in the article? Why?
I personally consider the trends that Carol was looking at much more valuable for several reasons. First of all, they come from a government report, which is a reliable source. Secondly, facts in the article included only a few numbers and there was almost no statistics in it.
What trends would you consider as you developed a segmentation strategy?
I would consider all the trends from the article in the development of a segmentation strategy. All of them contain valuable information that can be useful for the brand. Moreover, each of these trends carries information about different groups of people. All of these people can be considered as potential customers.

This happens when they tell their friends and relatives of the benefits of a certain product they personally like and highly recommend it.

Although the information according to a recent government report seems to be quite accurate and valuable, I would recommend to do primary research on the market before making a decision.
I would recommend to evaluate and analyze the frequency of purchase of organic food among male and female representatives of different ethnic groups and communities. I would also recommend to do a further research on organic food purchase frequency among male and female high school and college graduates. The most important thing here is that the more information the company has, the higher are its chances to succeed in the market in a competitive environment.
