Employees form a crucial asset for any organization. The organization must devise ways in which to ensure that its employees deliver to the best of their ability. Managers at different levels in the organization must ensure that they strike the balance between empowering the employees and ensuring that they remain committed to their responsibilities. Empowering employees rests with the managers. The managers should create an environment that motivates the employees stay proactive. A culture that motivates and rewards employees will make the employees take initiative. The managers should nurture talent by allowing employees to deliver their best. Empowerment of employees happens when the manager acts as a role model.
The managers must at all times demonstrate a behavior that will make the employees want to emulate. Employees should make decisions at their level. Authorizing the employees make decisions makes them empowered and prepares them to take bigger decisions in future. An example of such experiences include allowing the employees to make the decisions leaves the manager with the duty of supervision (Bernoff & Schandler, pg. 287). Systematic strategies to address challenges that face empowerment of employees in the organization exist. The strategies involve making the employees feel at ease when they are in the organization.
The success of the organization depends on the goodwill of the employees and the good instincts of middle-level managers. It requires the leadership of the organization to ensure that it empowers the employees if it desires success. The goodwill of the employees will mean that the organization has the full support from the employees, and they are ready to cooperate with middle-level managers.
