The RESRP (Residential Energy Saving Rebates and Programs) is a part program of a much bigger one which is coordinated in several states in the US with California and Nevada being among the states which utilize this conservation program. In Arizona, it encompasses energy conservation at home, in business premises and even a program is incorporated for the builders and constructors who have their part to play. For homes, encouraged are the air conditioning units and water heating equipment. The air conditioning units are upgraded into better energy saving units to promote energy efficiency and conservation. The water heating components are re-fitted into solar water heaters as a method of conserving energy trough the utilization of natural resources such as solar. For the businesses, they are equally asked to conserve energy by using energy saving air conditioning units. The builders and constructers are part of the program for education to learn more about building approaches which will lead to energy efficiency and conservation (Energy Efficiency Rebates-Arizona n.d).
This program is much more of a hands-on approach as well as a minds-on approach. It requires that the target audience is trained in matters of energy conservation requiring the companies that uphold the program to provide constant training. In this way, the audience is frequently updated over new matters that arise in the energy sector. It also encourages performance assessment in that as the company takes count of its customers, it can easily identify the number of people that the company has provided with environmental education. It is able to provide this education using face to face interactions with their customer, visiting people at their homes especially new home owners and even using seminars and workshops in targeted companies. It is all in a bid to keep the people within reach on the importance of energy efficiency in energy conservation (Programs n.d.).
