Martin Puryear is an America artist whose passions are mainly in traditional craft. Martin is known for woodwork art where he sculptures his ideas on wood on bronze metal. Currently, Martin shifted his focus from traditional art to printmaking. Unlike, sculpturing where Martin carries out his ideas, printmaking involves him drawing plans. Martin begins by etching and painting copper plates. The copper plates are then handed to printers for pressing. Martin enjoys printmaking because it involves using hand tools. Kiki Smith, on the other hand, is a German-American artist who is commonly known for artwork on birth and regeneration. Her printmaking process according to the video involves her drawing the art on copper printing plate. The plate is then taken to master printer’s workshop where it is printed. The printout is then worked on to remove the ideal picture. In the photo, Kiki uses a combination of traditional and self-taught technique. She tries to come up with refinement of human flesh.
