This means that the police will already have enough evidence when carrying out the arrest, saving them money and time.
Despite the above advantage, there are several cons associated with making use of paid informants. In a number of cases, police have worked on wrong tips from the paid informants. This is against the concept of fair trial. In the United States of America, paid informants often commit crimes in the name of working for the government. At other times, the so-called informants turn out to be the victims or perpetrators, hence hindering the cause of justice for their own good. This puts the practice in an awkward position.

In his case, he voluntarily refused to disclose certain information about the type of relationship he enjoyed with the deceased.
