For the Bay Area Business Magazine, Mariah Brown counts ten ways in which technology has changed our lives for the better. At the top of her list is education. Technology has allowed students to have knowledge at the tip of the fingers, as well as give teachers and professors a way to better present the information through the use of many different software, such as PowerPoint and Excel. Next on the list is healthcare. Technology has served to give communities better treatments, more efficient surgical procedures, and apps for our phones to help us keep on track of our healthy lifestyle. The list goes on to mention relationships, how technology connects peoples from different areas of the world, and environment, how technology works to make the environment more green. One of the other more important advantages is technology’s advancement of crime prevention and emergency alerts. Technology allows society to alert large areas of potential emergency situations. Furthermore, the top five advantages include advances in outer space, GPS navigation, government, shopping, and business. The top two areas, shopping and business, have definitely seen the benefits of technology, as we have the internet at our fingertips, to communicate with businesses across the world, and buy what we need at the click of a button.
