Women’s reproductive rights have indeed been a major point of discussion during the elections in the few years that have been subsided. However, such issues tend to occur during such times because the women have been considered to be the majority voters. The media has been able to provide quality coverage only during that period. However, on other occasions, the issue has been provided with little coverage because of the fact that the society or rather the industry is dominated by the male species. The news stories portray the women as weaker species that need to be helped. However, there has always been supporters and those who oppose reproductive related issues such as abortion. This clearly portrays the women as weaker species that cannot make their own decisions.
The percentage of the women in the media will continuously increase as time goes by. This lies with the fact that some women have come up strongly to fight for their rights. This will influence the other women who have been hiding in their cocoon to come out as well. As we advance into the century, people are becoming civilized and also rules that encourage equality among the women, and the men are being put in place. Therefore, such factors will contribute a great deal towards the increase of women in the news media. Due to the increase in the percentage, the women will no longer be depicted as weak because they will be running the show. Currently, there are very many women in the news media. They are the face of other women in the industry hence there will be a change of mind towards the women.
Do you think that in a few decades to come the women will take over the world?
