Free How To Engage Actively In Changing Policies And Procedures Affecting Children Essay Sample

In the process of changing the policies and procedures affecting children negatively, I will require active engagement in the application of different models of advocacy in action. I will apply the self-advocacy model where individuals speak out and represent themselves to support children. The model of self-advocacy will allow me to promote the skills and knowledge of Children (Association for Children International, 2011). Secondly, volunteer citizen advocacy model, where an advocate provides the unpaid service in the support of children affairs, will also end up applied. Through citizen networks, I will network to support myself during volunteering programs. My effectiveness in changing the policies and procedures that affect children negatively will arise from role models that cause an inspiration. Arne Duncan, the U.S Educational Secretary, causes an inspiration in me in advocating the children’s rights when he proposes for every child access to high-quality education (Pew Charitable Trust, 2014). President Obama is also my role model in taking an active participation in fighting for children rights when he funded the early childhood program (Children’s Defense Fund, 2014). I will advocate high quality and the well-being of all children and their families through supporting children’s defense fund to help in the purchase of academic facilities. According to Children’s Defense Fund (2014), supporting organizations that offer education to disadvantaged children leads to high-quality education for all learners. I will also bring into action all stakeholders responsible for children and their families’ wellness. I can use various ways in the advocating for young children and their families. Firstly, I will take part in the national campaigns in the ratification of the policies and procedures that are negatively affecting children. Through campaigns, policies makers will enact laws that favor children’s rights (Association for Children International, 2011). I will also engage in volunteer programs in children homes and care centers to provide moral support to children
