Literacy sponsors are individuals who support people who have literacy skills. They are after giving them full support that can be based on financially to ensure they rise to greater heights in their field of specialization. These sponsors also have their objectives of supporting those skilled individuals. Their objectives can be financially or politically. They both end up mutually benefiting from each other. Both can benefit economically because they may end up sharing the income they get from selling the writing works.
Question 1 Villanueva’s sponsors were his teachers who mocked him and he never gave up. Due to this he ended up putting more efforts in his studies. His sponsor benefits in the sense that they became popular through Villanueva’s efforts Malcolm X sponsors were many in which they included jail and the dictionary that he used while in the jail. In accordance with the article given about Malcolm we are told that when he was jailed he was much learned as literature is concerned but inside the jail he was motivated by the lonely environment to read more on literacy. The dictionary that he used also acted as a sponsor because it helped him understands English terms. As it pertains Malcolm, his sponsor does not benefit in any way.
Question 2 Both of the literacy narratives are based on the pattern of heroic in the sense that they explain more about the success of the two writers and how they made it through their struggle. The two narratives are based on the ways in which the writers developed their skills from different encounters that made the adapt their skills in literacy. They also show literacy progressiveness in the sense that some continuity can be traced from both the narratives.
