MTI has a mission of the partnership with stakeholders in the provision of quality and research methods that will assist in improving the need of the people of Malawi. As the branch manager in one of the Malawi technology industries, I was ordered to conduct a need assessment report on how the industry can expand its role in the medium and large industries in Malawi. The previous need assessment report was conducted on the technological requirement that small companies and industries. This led to MTI to provide technological support that assisted the micro and small industries. The purpose of this current assessment report will deal with large and medium organizations

This report is aimed at helping the stakeholders in the concerned industry to enable them in machining better decision that will improve the productivity. The MTI also obtains a support from the government through the Ministry of advanced science and technology.
Data collections
There were various methods that I used to collect and obtain information on the major requirement of the type of technology advancement that different industries from Malawi need. These methods include;
Survey approach method The first part of the survey targeted the companies which are on southern region .a survey conducted by eleven members of my team showed that , s most of the southern large industries were producers of agricultural product. They needed improved machinery tools to assist them in producing food products. There was a need for more sophisticated and improved machines to be used for planting, harvesting, cultivation, and transportation of goods and services. More than thirty threes companies from the southern region were identified through the survey process. The survey process used different categories to clarify the need for the companies. The first category was companied that were listed in Malawi stock exchange; the second category was company that produced a promised output of food substance to society.
The second method of data collection was the use of a questionnaire. The questionnaire was administered in an interview format. The senior member of 44 different companies answered it. The questionnaire was analyzed and described the situations in which the MTI assist the companies in producing the required technology. The results were then used to draw conclusions and making recommendations that will be used to help the MTI improve the long term and short-term operation of the companies.
The third method that was used was the secondary data sources like the use of the internet and companies journals from website. Through this method, it was found that most of the medium and large companies from Malawi needed super computer and mainframe computers to assisting them in creating the internet channel within their benches.
Marketing sizing was also used as the fourth method of collecting data. Through the method, we looked at the general productivity of 51 companies to various markets. It was found that most of the large companies in Malawi needed to advance folk lift machines.
Recommendation
Conclusion
In conclusion, this survey has revealed that there is the number of different technology that is needed by both manufacturing and production industries in Malawi. He needs are in the area of technology, machines, and equipment. The Malawi technology industry will have to ensure that its product will find a market in both locally and international industries. Since the survey showed that more than 67% of the companies needed machines and equipment, the Malawi technology industry will ensure that it will set aside e a budget of 10% of its operation to provide the needed machines and equipment to these industries. However, the machines may not be needed every year there will be the need to build a capacity to replace the machine when need arises.
