Free New Product Concept: Wiapers Essay Sample
INSTRCUTOR
New Product Concept:
“Wiapers” are diapers that contain a pouch in the back that contains usable wipes. A baby’s diaper now comes with the number of wipes that most people find they need for a change. The average number of wipes used for a baby’s diaper change is 3-4 (Forums, 2015). With Wiapers, you will never have to worry about running out of wipes, looking for wipes, or forgetting them, because the baby comes self contained with all the wipes that it needs. Directly in the back of the diaper there is a removable tab of clear plastic and underneath it are for ready to use wipes. So wipes travel wherever your baby does. The Concept Statement:
Wiapers is a way for parents to be preoccupied about one less thing. The concept statement will be told as a narrative, but will be shown by video They save time, energy and haste by making sure that anytime a baby has a diaper one, wipes are not far away. Wiapers will be priced at $30 for a pack of 30, so $1 per unit. (Answers, 2015) and (Walmart, 2014). The target market is for newborns to one-year-old babies. All parents know what it is like to be away from home, have a baby with a dirty diaper and to realize that they do not have any wipes. It is a horrible feeling, and with Wiapers, one need not ever feel this way again. They will be priced only slightly more than diapers, and with the cost of wipes will be priced so that parents are not spending any more by buying Wiapers than if they were buying regular diapers with wipes. The cost will include the price of normal diapers and wipes, and this will be a point that is hit home with the target market. The reason for including the cost, is because if parents realize that they are not losing any money by buying Wiapers, and if they realize that it will make their lives more easier, they will be much more likely to purchase this product rather than purchasing diapers and wipes independently.
Respondent Groups: Using a survey method, 100 parents of young children will be surveyed. 50 of the parents will be on their first child, and 50 of them will have had other children who are no longer babies and also a newborn. These respondent groups have been chosen because they represent the target market of people who would need to deal with babies and therefore would be most interested in purchasing this product. Response Situation/Research Method:
The best way to poll a group of the target market and find if this is a product that they would be actually interested in using it would be a survey method. Due to the ease an online survey method would be most applicable. These choices were made because they are cost effective and get the desired answers.
Survey Questions: Are there times when you have been out of your house and you forgot to pack baby wipes? Do you sometimes run out of wipes when you need them most? Wouldn’t it be easier for you to have wipes built into diaper?
