Business Model and Strategic Planning
Communication Plan
Communication is essential for the passing and understanding of information across the organization. The communications plan for the organization will facilitate the communication of the strategic objectives of the company and will include three distinct aspects, including then purpose, the audience and the channel of communication.
The purpose of the communication plan is to create awareness of the strategic objective of the company, which is to reestablish its technological footprint through the reintroduction of Google Glass. This plan will also create an understanding of the organization, which will promote accuracy and efficiency in the workplace.
Audience
The audience will include management, key personnel and outside vendors responsible for providing raw materials. The potential risks for the audience are the costs of reaching them and inflexibility. The audience contains management, key personnel and outside vendors, all of who are individuals with busy schedules and getting them to read the plan might be time-consuming. Possible mitigation plans for the risks include understanding the schedule of these people in order to establish the best possible time to communicate to them.
Communication Channels
Communication will entail various flows including upward communication, lower communication, and horizontal communication. These flows of communication will encompass various channels including both face-to-face means and electronic ones such as email and teleconferencing. The face-to-face channel will be important because it is easy, fast and reduces logical gaps. The technological means are also fast, efficient, flexible, and information can be stored for future reference. Possible risks for the face-to-face channel are that information is prone to distortion, alteration and instances of forgetfulness are possible. Possible mitigation will be to employ the technological means.
For the technological channels, possible risks include lack of technological knowledge; technological devices might be expensive and can only be applicable on the literate because some of the outside vendors can lack knowledge of the technological means. Possible mitigations include, use of one-on-one messages, especially for the vendors, and provide technological education for the use of technological means, especially to the management and key personnel.
